Is the LCD televisions which often hold the tag as eco-friendly really good on nature?

The so called next generation technology Lcd televisions which have a better picture quality and has less impact on eyes has a bad impact on environment through Nitrogen Floride gaswhich is described as a green house gas with a global warming potential .This gas (Nf3) is used in making the silicon wafers for the plasma televisions and for making the liquid crystal displays.
This gas which is toxic in nature can cause damage to liver and kidney.These gas burns the ozone layer making a hole in the ozone layer which in turn welcomes the ozone rays enter into the earth increasing the global temperature which in turn melts icebergs and glaciers in antartica increasing the sea level drowning the low lying parts and ozone rays causes skin cancer. This gas has global warming potential 17,200 times greater than carbondioxide(Co2) when compared over a 100 year period placing it second tosulfur hexafloride(SF6) .Meeting the demands of the consumer market which had already started throwing away the CRT monitors and traditional televisions , the effects which some analysts gas predicted that the effect of NF3 gas would be much higher than the damages made by coal fired power stations.Having all these hazardous effects on environment Lcd televisions are marketed through social marketing technique as 'eco-friendly' just because it consumes less power!
